According to data released by the Union health ministry on Sunday morning, India reported 16,103 new coronavirus infections and 31 deaths connected to the virus in the previous 24 hours nationwide.
India has seen 4,35,02,429 Covid-19 infections since the pandemic’s start.
According to the Union health ministry, India’s active caseload increased by 2,143 cases from the day before to 1,11,711 on Sunday. The number of current cases makes up 0.26 percent of all infections.
5,25,199 people have died nationwide since the pandemic began, including 1,47,934 people in Maharashtra, 70,037 people in Kerala, 40,119 people in Karnataka, 38,026 people in Tamil Nadu, 26,266 people in Delhi, 23,540 people in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,222 people in West Bengal. The 31 new deaths include 14 from Kerala, 5 from Maharashtra, 3 from West Bengal, 2 from Delhi, 1 from each of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, and 1 from Mizoram. The case mortality rate was found to be 1.21 percent. According to the health ministry, there have been 13,929 Covid-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, putting the national Covid-19 recovery rate at 98.54 percent. 4,28,65,519 persons have recovered from the illness, a significant increase. The weekly positivity rate was 3.81 percent, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.27 percent. The health ministry reports that the country has so far received 197.95 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the widespread immunization campaign.
India’s participation in Covid-19 had reached one million in December 2020, two million in May of last year, and three million in June of 2021. This year’s four crore threshold was crossed in January.
